Talking Headless - Once Upon a Time Back in the Studio..

Once upon a time in the studio... Float 2015, oil/linen 200x200cm. When the painting was going well sometimes I just liked to have a little dance when no-one was looking. Stumbling across this little video again I find myself slightly disturbed that I am largely headless - a macabre resonance perhaps.. And also the completely random soundtrack of Talking Heads 'And She Was', which just happened to be playing: 'The world was moving, she was floating above it, and she was.. This had no link to the title of my painting, which was more to do with Isis hostages being drowned.

Why I stopped painting

SEPTEMBER 2021.

It its now nearly forty years since I was able to renounce my previous short-lived careers as cleaner, waiter, civil service clerk or scenic painter to make a living solely from the sale of my own work.
